Gwinear Show 2015

The Band recently had its first outing of the year at Gwinear Show on 2nd May. The last time we played at this event, the weather was so bad it was like the sinking of the Titanic, so the weather forecast of rain did fill us with some trepidation. However, we were lucky, and the heavy rain held off for most of the time we were playing.
We had a nice canvas shelter that the majority of us fitted into, although myself (tenor sax) and Barbara (clarinet) were, at times, a little damp on one side, as we only just came under the edge of the tent!
Under the steely baton of George Lawry, our  Director, the programme went well,  with several of our players performing sterling solos. Our latest addition is Game of Thrones, so right up to date!
We are looking forward to our next performances, so look out for us on sunny Tuesday evenings from 7pm outside the Harbour Inn at Porthleven throughout the summer, starting end of May we hope (weather permitting). Fish and chips not included!
